Our Story

Jake Gukowsky's journey began nearly 30 years ago at Bayside High School in Queens, NY, in the mid-90s. In his senior year, he was selected for the prestigious "Executive Internship" program within the NYC Public School system, one of just 32 students chosen boroughwide. This opportunity led to a five-month internship at a jingle house recording studio in Times Square, igniting his passion for audio production.

After high school, Jake attended Nassau Community College, enrolling in the Studio Recording Technologies program. There, he secured his first paid live sound gig with a professor’s company. He later transferred to SUNY Oneonta to study Music Business and mix live audio for a local band. 

Returning to NYC, Jake launched a small recording studio and touring with local emerging bands, while also gaining industry experience with NY based audio-visual companies. As his career progressed, he started working on larger-scale productions and expanded his client base. By his late twenties, Jake had become a trusted Audio Engineer, Systems Designer, Production Manager, and Audio Site Lead, eventually founding Jakeyland Productions.

In 2014, Jake and his wife relocated to the San Francisco Bay Area to start a family. This move marked a shift in Jake’s career, transitioning from a versatile audio engineer to assuming new roles such as Account Executive, Technical Director, and Project Manager, overseeing national projects and expanding his expertise in audiovisual services, logistics, budgeting, and crew management. Today, Jake's diverse experience fuels Jakeyland Productions, providing comprehensive services to clients nationwide.
